HOLY CROSS YOUTH

Established in 2012, Holy Cross Youth, formerly known as the Trinitarians Youth Ministry aims to draw together the younger members of our parish, from year 7 and above. Our first meeting saw four members attend and now we’re joined by over twenty members, with a growing interest from young adults that bring along greater discussion and also act as great role models for our younger members.

Every month, Holy Cross Youth meet in the parish and discuss faith-based topics. These gatherings are a great opportunity for our parishioners to speak their thoughts, ask questions and come to know our faith. We have regular activities that help them put their faith into action and consider how they can live their Catholic faith in their day-to-day lives. This is usually followed by dinner and games. It has been great to witness the new friendships and the growing confidence of many of our members over these years.

Holy Cross Youth have contributed to many memorable moments for our parish. We are active in many aspects of parish life including serving at Mass, the music ministry, and children’s liturgy as well as the parish’s many other liturgical and social events.

Our fundraising has brought forth the generosity of the parish particularly with some of our more unique ideas such as trapping our youth coordinator in a toy cage or cooking a pancake breakfast. We have supported many parish events and are always eager to pitch in where possible.

Our dedication to our fundraising and participation in our parish has seen us travel nationally to Adelaide for the Australian Catholic Youth Festival in 2015, and internationally with thousands of other youth to Krakow and Panama for World Youth Day in 2016 and 2019. And we hope to create many more memorable moments in the years to come.

Members of Holy Cross Youth meet monthly and are always keen to welcome new faces. Keep your eye on our parish Facebook and Instagram pages and join us at our next event or to keep up with all that is happening.
